Our Story

The Struggle

Our ancestors fought for our Country, their blood, sweat and tears all went into every second of that fighting moment. They struggle, they starved, they faced scarcity but yet they stood tall.

Grandad, we thank you; Baba, we thank you;  Brother, we thank you; Uncle, we thank you; Cousins, we thank you.

To our mothers; who are the energy to every bone within us, the ones who had to do it all alone, the ones who had to prove themselves everyday, the ones that today...we would not be where we are without them; We thank you.

Our struggles gave us strength and enabled us to learn the true meaning of appreciation. We respect, we understand culture and we honour strong relationships.

Our Elders have taught us a lot  but one thing that stood out through all those years of wars is that, THE SOUTH SUDANESE PEOPLE STOOD TOGETHER.

The Journey

The Second chances.

The Phase where we must STOP the TALKING AND START WORKING TOWARDS the solutions for the pressing issues that we are currently facing.

We got the opportunities to be able to gain a better education, work and indulge in better living lifestyles.

We now must unite and work together to create a future that our ancestors saw for us.

They fought for us and for our country.

Now its our time to give back. We must work with each other to develop and build our motherland.

Our Journey stops when we can Happily live in our Country with Stability, Peace, Harmony and a strong Economical status.

We have to work with Positivity.

Let go of the negative and the past, they are causing unnecessary pain/stress.

Look into the Future because the Future is bright for

Our Country.

CHANGING YOUR

PERSPECTIVE ABOUT

THE SOUTH SUDANESE PEOPLE AND SOUTH SUDAN.

WE UNDERSTAND THE CIRCUMSTANCES ARE NOT GREAT, WE KNOW THERE'S SECURITY ISSUES AND WE KNOW OUR POLITICAL SYSTEM NEEDS TO BE STRONGER.

WE HAVE ACCEPTED THAT THERE'S WORK THAT NEEDS TO BE DONE AND NOW WE MUST MOVE FORWARD AND IMPLEMENT THE RIGHT CHANGES AND SOLUTIONS TO BE ABLE TO RESTRUCTURE THE STANDARD OF OUR COUNTRY.

WE HAVE TO START SOMEWHERE AND THAT SOMEWHERE IS HERE.

No nation was built overnight, but we are dedicated to start taking the right measures towards effective and positive change for South Sudan.

WE HAVE A VISION,

ONE IN WHICH WE ARE

WORKING HARD FOR.

TO DEVELOP OURSELVES, WORK IN UNITY AND DEVELOP OUR COUNTRY.

TOGETHER,

WE WILL MAKE

SOUTH SUDAN

GREAT.

WE ARE THE FUTURE.

DSSA South Sudanese

We acknowledge our Leaders and we appreciate all they have done for us and South Sudan. We must now work together to fill in the generational gaps.  No one knows it all, we have to effectively communicate, make room and plan together.

The pressing issues that currently stand in South Sudan are the attributes that motivate us to work hard and stay focused on the vision.  We are the millennial generation who will impact change and set the right foundations for the future of our country.

The journey of my people from conflict to peace, independence and freedom was costly, and characterized by economic and political marginalization, a prolonged war, humanitarian disasters, the loss of millions of lives and untold human suffering. At independence, we acquired a country with a multitude of challenges, ranging from weak national institutions, inadequate physical infrastructure, limited human capacity and weak security mechanisms.
